Bobcats sign eight for 2010

Athens, Ohio – Ohio baseball head coach Joe Carbone announced the signing of eight student-athletes during the early recruiting period. Brandon Dailey, Taylor Emody, Shane Henkel, Ethan Newton, Jensen Painter, Tyler Stage, Dan Ward and Scott White will comprise the Bobcats’ 2010 signing class that will join the Ohio baseball team at the start of next school year. This group consists of five Ohio natives, one from Pennsylvania, one from Virginia, and one from Canada.

“Our number one goal in the early recruiting season was to replace our departing seniors and junior draftees,” Carbone said. “We feel we signed some very versatile players that can play a position and also pitch. There are some tremendous athletes in this group that will really help our team next year. I want to give credit to Andrew See, our recruiting coordinator, and Scott Malinowski for getting out and doing a good job of evaluating talent and convincing the recruits to visit Ohio.
