Wooster 2nd, Heidelberg 14th, Marietta 19th in Collegiate Baseball preseason poll

We told it was that time of year. Collegiate Baseball or College Baseball News, whichever you prefer, has announced their 2010 preseason polls. Starting with Division III, the Buckeye State is well represented showing the talent and this state is home to in collegiate baseball on this level.

Leading the pack is the College of Wooster Fighting Scots, the 2009 NCAA Division III runners-up. Wooster finished 2009 with a 43-11 record, falling to St. Thomas who starts 2010 atop of the list barely outdistanced Wooster 263-259 in point total.

At 14th is the reigning OAC champions the Heidelberg Student Princes. Finishing 2009 at 37-9, Heidelberg received 222 votes. Marietta the 2009 OAC tournament champions, and Mideast Regional runners-up in falling to Wooster is ranked 19th to start the year with 207 votes off their 32-17 ’09 record
