The folks at D3baseball.com have released their Preseason All-American teams and the Buckeye state is well represented. Not surprisingly, 2009 D3baseball.com All-American DH Matt Groezinger (Wooster) was selected to the 1st team. Joining his teammate on the 1st team is Wooster starting pitcher Justin McDowell.
Heidelberg also had two players selected. 2nd baseman Gar Keen and relief pitcher Andy Lowe were both 2nd team picks.
Mount St. Joseph relief pitcher Steve Matre was also a 2nd team selection.
The final Ohio player selected was Otterbein 3rd baseman Brian Hiscox. The multiple time All-Mideast region performer was tabbed Honorable Mention All-America.
Tomorrow Buckeye State Baseball will announce its DIII Preseason Player of the Year. Will it be Groezinger, Keen, or Hiscox? Will a darkhorse in Ferrell, Gessner, or Whiteman be the choice? As we concluded our DIII Top 30 today, we will wrap it all up tomorrow with our choice.
