The preseason top 25 was released by D3baseball.com today and things panned out pretty much as expected for Ohio schools.
2009 national runner-up Wooster begins the season ranked #2 behind defending national champion St. Thomas (MN). With All-Americans Justin McDowell and Matt Groezinger back the Fighting Scots were not a surprise in the second slot.
Joining Wooster in the top 10 is Heidelberg. The defending OAC champs check in at #10 thanks to the return of lights out closer Andy Lowe and one of the most potent middle infield duos in DIII baseball, Gar Keen and Jason Lash.
Wrapping up the Ohio representation in the poll is fellow OAC member Marietta at 14th. The Etta Express is a perennial contender for the Mideast regional title and 2010 will be no different.
